Music I like or used to like

adding stuff sporadically. used to listen to a bunch of metalcore and deathcore, now i’ve mostly fallen off of deathcore and i still listen to some metalcore but i’m more into post-hardcore and screamo/skramz. if i list a single album in a section i probably haven’t gotten around to checking out the rest of their stuff yet. also sorry i’m woefully inept at describing why i like something beyond saying it “goes hard” i very much wish i weren’t like this

Favorites

The Acacia Strain

metalcore, sludge (NOT deathcore >:|)

love TAS so much and i am very happy that there are finally some misogyny-free albums by them and Inverted Person is an iconic anti-boomer anthem. i have Wormwood and Slow Decay on CD

AFI

alternative rock, post-hardcore, emo, goth, post-punk

love everything from Sing the Sorrow to AFI except Crash Love which is a bit less good. ranking wld go Decemberunderground > Sing the Sorrow > Burials > AFI > Crash Love > the rest

chipmunks on 16 speed

plunderphonics

alvin and the chipmunks tracks from 33½ rpm vinyls played at 16⅔ rpm so they’re at half speed and half pitch. the instruments are pitched down and everything is slow but the vocals are normal. almost all of it goes hard as fuck. also i’m astonished that the alvin and the chipmunks people felt the need to change “invincible” to “eventual” in Heartbreaker but somehow had no qualms with literally having alvin, the novelty record children’s artist chipmunk, say “always get it up for the touch of the younger kind” in My Sharona

Counterparts
